Launches at Algoma University

Faculty and Staff at Algoma    University launched their 2009 workplace campaign for United Way on Monday January 18th. Presenters from two United Way funded programs shared the impact of their programs on individuals, youth, families and seniors. The in house campaign team will be meeting with every employee over the next two weeks in an effort to boost the community wide campaign.

During the best of times, many families in our community struggle to survive. The factors responsible for this struggle often stem from outside of our community, however locally we can provide help to those who need it.

The United Way Community Assistance Trust Program assists low income families with rent, utilities, home heating, food and other essential services. Demand for these services continues to increase.

It is not too late to support this year’s United Way campaign; contact the United Way office to make a donation at 705-256-7476 or on line at www.ssmunitedway.ca
