Changing Lives the United Way 2009 Campaign Update

The 2009 Campaign Cabinet represented by Vice Chair Joe Krmpotich received various workplace campaign results at an event hosted by Credential – Northern Credit Union 480 Bay St. on Wednesday December 16th. Jo also updated those present – volunteers, donors and businesses on the progress of the 2009 fundraising campaign.

The total funds raised to date - $1,005,000 – 80% to our target of $1,250,000.

The campaign is still on going - we have more funds to raise to reach our goal. United Way will accept donations up to March 31, 2010. 

Presentations for completed Workplace Campaigns presented tonight:

• Brookfield Renewable Power, Jim DeLuzio, General Manager -$ 43,667 includes $35,000 Corporate & $8667 Employee – from business units Ontario Wind Operations, Sault Hydro, Lake Superior Power, Mississagi Operations, Wawa Hydro
• Canada Post Corporation – Pino Caputo, Local Area Manager, John Papi, Heather LaBrash, Carolyn Pouw, Paul LeClair - $11,106 Employee Campaign
• Essar Steel Algoma – Aaron Evans, Manager Cost Accounting & Budget - $111, 836 this amount represents the balance of the Essar Algoma 2009/2010 Campaign – total Campaign $301, 678
• Cross Country Automotive Services – Connie Witty, Senior Recruiter & Jordy Catterick - Employee Campaign $ 16,034
• TD Canada Trust, Richard Ciotti, Manager Cambrian Mall – $ 6344 includes Corporate $ 4145 & Employee $ 2199
• RBC Royal Bank, Josh Bowden, Manager Second Line Branch - Employee Campaign $8009
• Northern Credit Union, Kevin Connolly, VP Sales and Service and Debbie Fabbro, Branch Manager - $7500 includes Corporate $2425 and Employee $5075.
