Students Raise $10,530 to support the 2009 United Way Campaign!

On October 17th, 2009, 507 movie-crazed high school students paid a small fee of $20 and attended the 8th annual Starlight FilmFest hosted at Galaxy Cinema. Starting at 12:00am, the devoted students glared at the movie screen while making “Oooh” and “Awww” noises as they watched a favorite teenage romance, Twilight. Pressing onwards, movies such as 17 Again, I Am Legend, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Knowing enjoyed while indulging in free popcorn, drinks, and a slice of pizza. At 6:30am, at the end of the last movie, a hoard of zombie like students emerged from the theater, exhausted from a long night of watching the big screen.

A big thank you goes out to Galaxy staff and management, all of the volunteers, the security staff, Quality Cleaners, and all the students that attended the Filmfest.

Without you, there would be no way.
