Life Insurance Policy

A gift of life insurance is a way to make a significant gift in the future while receiving tax benefits today. You can give the Community Endowment Fund ownership of a new policy, a paid-up policy, or a policy on which premiums remain to be paid.

You will receive a tax receipt for the cash surrender value of the policy as well as for every payment you make after the policy is assigned. In addition, probate fees that would otherwise reduce your estate after death will never be charged.

If you want more flexibility, you can keep ownership of the policy and simply name United Way as a beneficiary. This option allows you the flexibility of changing the policy beneficiary should your circumstances change. Tax benefits will be realized by your estate after your death.
