was created by concerned individuals from the United Way Public Assistance Coordinating Committee.
During the Building an Extraordinary Community (B.E.C.) process, the need for one entry point in the community for accessing compassionate, coordinated public assistance was identified as a priority. Community Assistance Trust was established as this community entry point.
With the growing number of cut backs in government assistance, communities have to create solutions for helping everyone cope.
Community Assistance Trust was established in 2001 as one of those creative solutions to reduce the impact of poverty for those in the greatest need.
The Trust identifies gaps and duplication in services, and partners with our organizations, service clubs and the faith community to provide one stop public assistance.
